Fuck you blood!
Well, I just received a call from the lead doctor investigator dude from my treatment protocol. He called with the results of my blood flow cytometry. Everything else is clean and/or negative but my blood still shows signs of malignant cells. This sucks.
His consolation? Before we started the treatment we were at 66%. After 4 rounds of chemotherapy I got down to 30%. Now, I am at 8%. He seems to think that when my immune system is back at full strength (in about 3-6 MONTHS) it may very well irradiate the rest of that 8%. If not, then I wait for the numbers to go back up and start another treatment.
This is never going to end for me I fear

In a way the numbers look good also. 66% and now 8%, I think that is also good news in its own way. Sorry it isn’t the news you wanted.

Keep your chin up, Gary! It sounds like really positive news, even if it isn’t the best! I’m sure you are really happy that you work, even if it’s not a full day. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be totally healed soon. Think Positive!!

It sucks. It does. But you are still here. You are living with cancer. Emphasis on living! You are not beaten yet! I am so happy you are back. Hope you got to enjoy the Halloween parade. We’re all so proud of you. You will beat this. 8% is still winning!!
